Computer Booking System for Windows 2000/2003/XP Only
This unique Windows™ notification package integrates into the Windows™ logon process.
Administrators can track login names, login times and which workstation was used to log into the network. Other usages could be to display system wide messages, usage policies, etc. Workstation logins could be denied or forced logouts could be implemented if a user do not comply with the minimum requirements. Users could also be forced to only login at a specific workstation if required.
Various registry settings could be added or changed to implement certain user policies if required. All activities are recorded into a database for statistical usage or wherever the data may be useful.
The package consists of 3 modules:
- The design module. With this module, you would define the layout and location of the workstations in your institution.
- The monitoring module. With this module, you can monitor the usage activity on your network.
- The notification package itself, which is installed on the workstations itself.
This system is ideal for computer labs on universities, where control and monitoring must take place to ensure accountability...but we can add other functionality to implement it anywhere in your orginization...
The software is currently being rewritten to comply with the Windows Vista operating system.
The Design Module
With this module you create the floor layout of where each and every computer is located in your institution. If it is in a computer lab, or on a different floor level, each of these computers get's a unique identification number and location to identify it on the network.
The Monitoring Module
With this module you can monitor the status and usage of the computers in your institution.
The Notification Package
This module is installed as dynamic libraries which link into the Windows™ logon process. It can display the computer identification as a wallpaper on the desktop or set a default screen saver. This is the heart of the booking system, which does all the verification and applies all the policies of your institution.
